*Storybook Reading Program
*Worship Services/Bible Studies
*Annual In-Prison Seminar
*Good Samaritan Mentor Program
We served the women at Mark Luttrell Correctional Center, until the women were moved to Henning in the fall of 2016, with 2 Bible Studies/classes per week. We now have a Bible Study at Shelby County Corrections twice per month and also the Annual In-Prison Seminar. It always blesses us when we see that the Church is alive inside the prison walls.
The Storybook Program is an outreach to the moms and children. We record the mom reading a storybook and then we send the book and the CD to the children. We have been told that the children absolutely love hearing their mothers read the stories to them. This helps nourish the relationship while they are seperated and hopefully will send the message to the children that they are loved!
The Good Samaritan Mentor Program has been expanded to include men at Mark Luttrell Transitional Center. We also have mentors going to Shelby County Division of Corrections and West Tennessee Reentry Center in Henning, TN.
For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.
Matthew 25:35-36 NIV
